BYU Guard, Jimmer Fredette has been named the Sporting News 2011 College Basketball Player of the Year. The College Basketball player, Fredette is the nations' leading scorer and has averaged 28.5 points per game as well as scored 40 plus points in four games, including more than 50 points in one game. The college basketball players' leadership has been pivotal throughout BYU's 30-4 regular season and has taken the number three seeded Cougars to the Sweet Sixteen in the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
